Piano Jazz zwischen traditioneller karibischer Musik und modernem Jazz
The French pianist is one of the greatest jazz musicians in his country. He has been playing the piano since he was six years old, initially classical music, but then turned to jazz in his youth. He now also works as a singer and composer.
His performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2008 marked his big breakthrough. He is now considered one of the great jazz pianists and one of the most important representatives of the fusion of jazz and world music. His spiritual jazz draws on influences from urban pop music, Creole songs and electronic music. Privat thus breaks down musical boundaries.
The pianist is considered a storyteller and skilled technician with a keen sense of rhythm. His music combines lyrical melodies with complex harmonies and surprising tempo changes, reflecting his Caribbean roots in a unique way. It is simply incredible fun to listen to him.

Gefühlvoller und eleganter Soul aus Italien
The Italian Mario Biondi is regarded as one of the most charismatic soul-jazz singers of our time. With his smoky, resonant voice, his smooth, spoken-word style and his soulful groove, he is reminiscent of legendary soul singers such as Barry White and Isaac Hayes. With several platinum records and number-one albums to his name, he has enjoyed similar success.
With his fantastic band, Biondi covers everything from swing to rhythm “n” blues to soul. He performs well-known songs, but also presents his own compositions.
Biondi is coming to Saarbrücken with his new album to celebrate his twentieth anniversary on stage, which began in 2006 with his groundbreaking debut album ‘Handful of Soul’.
Line-up: Mario Biondi (voc) | Massimo Greco (p) | Giovanni Cutello (sax) | Matteo Cutello (tp) | David Florio (perc, fl) | Ameen Saleem (b, kb) | Francesca Remigi (dr)
