Jazz enthusiasts know Roni Kaspi as the drummer for world star Avishai Cohen. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, she uploaded a video in 2020 at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in which she played along to a piece by Avishai Cohen. He saw the video, was thrilled and invited her to audition. Without further ado, he made the young drummer a member of his trio alongside pianist Guy Moskovich.

As a drummer, the 23-year-old Kaspi has already cultivated her very own style at a young age, which is characterized by a wealth of facets and unbridled joy of playing. In her solo project, she mixes the complex influences of jazz with rock, pop, electronica and hip-hop to create an unmistakable indie-pop-jazz sound that is characterized by modern beats and improvisation and has been highly praised by critics. She is already regarded as a “sensation” of young jazz.
