Und es gibt solche, die&nbsp;<em>sind<\/em>&nbsp;ein Instrument. Antonio Lizana ist einer von letzteren. Der 1986 in San Fernando geborene Andalusier singt Flamenco und spielt Jazz-Saxophon, und er tut beides gleichzeitig, ohne dass dabei das eine das andere verdr\u00e4ngt. Stattdessen entsteht etwas Drittes: eine Musik, die nach Meersalz und Gro\u00dfstadtnacht riecht, nach C\u00e1diz und Manhattan, nach&nbsp;<em>quej\u00edo<\/em>&nbsp;und Charlie Parker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lizanas Geburtsstadt San Fernando liegt auf einer Halbinsel s\u00fcdwestlich von C\u00e1diz \u2013 eine Stadt, die  zu den Wiegen des Flamenco z\u00e4hlt. Hier wuchs Antonio Lizana auf, umgeben von&nbsp;<em>cantaores<\/em>&nbsp;und Gitarristen, von der Schwere und Sch\u00f6nheit des Gesangs. Doch es war ausgerechnet eine Aufnahme von Deep Purple, die sein Vater ihm als Achtj\u00e4hrigem vorspielte, die ihn zur Musik brachte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Am Konservatorium erhielt Lizana eine klassische Ausbildung, bevor ihn befreundete Gitarristen mit der Musik von Paco de Luc\u00eda und Tomatito bekannt machten. er begann, die <em>Falsetas<\/em>, die melodischen Figuren des Flamenco, auf das Saxophon zu \u00fcbertragen. Dann zog er ins Baskenland, nach San Sebasti\u00e1n, um am Centro Superior de M\u00fasica del Pa\u00eds Vasco Jazz zu studieren. Er selbst gibt zu, dass ihn die Jazztradition zun\u00e4chst kaltlie\u00df \u2013 doch beim Studium verliebte er sich in sie und fand dabei auch seine Singstimme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diese Stimme ist das Herzst\u00fcck seiner Kunst. Ein Cantaor, der zugleich Saxophonist ist. Lizana singt mit der Inbrunst und dem dramatischen Ernst des andalusischen Gesangs, ohne in Folklore zu versinken. Seine Texte handeln nicht von Schmerz um des Schmerzes willen, nicht von den klassischen Flamenco-Themen Liebe, Tod und Einsamkeit im musealen Sinne. Er schreibt \u00fcber die Wirklichkeit, die Menschen heute besch\u00e4ftigt. Lizana ist eine einzigartiger K\u00fcnstler: eine echter Flamenco-S\u00e4nger und ein grandioser Saxophonist, mit einem andalusischen Herzen und der improvisatorischen Seele eines Jazzmusikers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seit seinem Deb\u00fctalbum\u00a0<em>De Viento<\/em>\u00a0(2012) hat Lizana eine beeindruckende Karriere aufgebaut, die ihn in \u00fcber drei\u00dfig L\u00e4nder gef\u00fchrt hat. Er spielte auf dem SXSW in Austin, bei der Flamenco Biennale in Amsterdam, auf Jazzfestivals in Shanghai und in Buenos Aires. Er nahm ein NPR Tiny Desk Concert auf \u2013 als einer der wenigen spanischen K\u00fcnstler \u00fcberhaupt. Er kollaborierte mit Arturo O&rsquo;Farrill und Alejandro Sanz an Grammy-pr\u00e4mierten Werken, spielte mit Snarky Puppy, Marcus Miller und Chano Dom\u00ednguez. Die Liste seiner Partner liest sich wie ein Who&rsquo;s who des Jazz, und doch verliert sich Lizana in keiner dieser Konstellationen. Er bleibt erkennbar: der Mann aus San Fernando, der das Saxophon singt und die Stimme spielen l\u00e4sst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Was Antonio Lizana so besonders macht, ist nicht die blo\u00dfe Fusion zweier Stile, er verbindet sie. Lizana bewahrt die\u00a0<em>duende<\/em>, den schwer definierbaren Geist des Flamenco, auch in modernstem Jazz-Kontext. Er \u00f6ffnet eine alte Kunst f\u00fcr neue Ohren \u2013 und beweist dabei, dass Tradition und Moderne keine Feinde sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Begleitet wird Lizana von einem wunderbaren Band und dem T\u00e4nzer und S\u00e4nger Jose Maria Castano, der Lizanas Musik und Gesang fast schon magisch aufl\u00e4dt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Es gibt Musiker, die spielen ein Instrument.
